Lunch Time
The students of Snow Canyon Middle School desperately need there time away from school.
To unwind from tests, teachers, school work, and learning. All those subjects are very stressful in a young teenager’s life. Our lunch hour is the only hour from 8:00 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. that we have that we can just get away from school, and relax and have fun.
This is why we must fight for a longer lunch hour.
My friends and I are always rushing down to lunch, which takes time out of our unwinding. Then we have to run like the wind back up to the school. And running after eating isn’t a great idea. Tardie’s equal restitution that equals money, which most kids cant afford to go to. So, if they made the lunch hour longer the less fortunate students wouldn’t have to pay for there restitution.
Teachers love there time away from the 800 kids they see every week day of every month, except for the few holidays that we have. But, there lunchtime is also there time to relax. And get away for a little while. Therefore, the teachers get there time to drive to where they want to eat, get there meal, eat, relax, and drive back, and not be in any type of rush. Doesn’t that just sound terrific? Come on now, really. Who wouldn’t want that? I sure would. I sure know you would to.
No one can disagree with me on this. I personally could get almost every kid and every teacher in Snow Canyon Middle School to sign a petition saying that they want a longer lunch hour. Why cant we all just be happy, and have a longer lunch hour? Is that just too much to ask? I wouldn’t think so. It’s only a few more minutes. Who is that going to hurt? And if it does hurt anyone then what would it do to them? Everyone should just get their way, and have a longer lunch hour. If you think about it, it’s more of a holy hour. Time away from everyone and everything. How great life would be with that holy hour. That is why we should have a longer ‘holy hour’. So everybody who is anyone

The students of Snow Canyon Middle School desperately need there time away from school. To unwind from tests, teachers, school work, and learning. All those subjects are very stressful in a young teenager’s life. Our lunch hour is the only hour from 8:00 a.m. That we have that we can. I'm happy to say I think I've finally found a good balance of letting go of control and encouraging healthy eating habits through fun and education not coercion. I can now enjoy mealtime with my family, instead of dreading our nightly food battles. For the record, I, by no means, have children who eat every vegetable offered to them.
